Arthur W Higgins

Arthur was a renowned artist working in a variety of media including oil, watercolor, jewelry making, serigraphy, woodcut, mixed metals fabrication and wood.

Arthur William Higgins was born in Seattle on June 7, 1942 and died in Vancouver, Washington on March 12, 2011. After graduating from Edmonds High School, he attended University of Wisconsin graduating with a Master of Fine Arts.

Arthur completed more than 40 public art commissions while living in Alaska. His work is in several schools and in the Alaska State Museum. Arthur was an avid builder and flyer of model airplanes, having designed and constructed hundreds of model airplanes. He was an active member of five different model airplane clubs.

Arthur W. Higgins moved to Mosier in 1986; where he purchased acreage and built a home and studio. Arthur operated a successful high-end yard and garden sculpture business. He designed, manufactured and sold sculptures that would move in the wind for use in gardens, and on patios and decks.
